twin turbos
I've made the common mistake of thinking bigger is better when it comes to my turbo, now i have alot of lag and doesnt work well with how i drive. so im wondering if i could use my current turbo and add a smaller one for twins. is it too small for a secondary? I have a bd super B special

Really common to see people upgrade more than needed.
Check this out. * AirDog 150 * Edge Comp * RV275's * Stock HX35W * Stock 3" Exhaust * BHAF I can reach 25 MPG but have zero smoke the way I'm tuned. Then 2nd gear I can outright smoke the tires then 3rd pulls so hard it barks. I can even do this with my 31' RV hitch up to me. EGT's are even very controllable too even towing. It's about getting the fuel/air ratio correct and not flooding out the cylinders with over fuel. (Black smoke). Sometimes bigger is NOT better as I'm proving with my setup. |
Not to sound like a jerk but i know diesels work, but your not answering my question

if you are or know someone who is handy with a tig welder you could always do a he351ve vgt turbo swap. we have done a couple he351 and 451 swaps on these 24valve trucks and every single one does great. with the right tune and 150hp injectors you get very little smoke. and you can hit round 52psi. we are doing my swap in a week 2 i cant wait!

Did you happen to call BD? I know they make tubing pre bent and cut for compound setups. Also, some of their setups are meant to be upgraded to compounds. Since you have one of their own already, they may will be able to help you.

No mention of injectors. Super B special and no injectors is 150-200HP too small. You still use the special in a twinset up but it will still be laggy. What are your goals... a trade for a 62mm may be better and save you some money.

I get rid of the super b special and go more towards the 62mm like Jkidd said. Or if you dont wanna go with injectors go with a super b single and that will spool way nicer than a 64/71/13 Super B Special

I was thinking maybe a HX 40 with my speacial. I'm looking to have high horsepower daily driver, injectors are in the plans for this year
