raptor 150 Q's

hey guys, i just installed a raptor 150gph, when i start the truck it reads 10 psi, then very slowly creeps up to the 20psi i set it at, it does it everytime its started hot or cold, and never did it before with the factory lift pump that allways ran at 15psi. also has anyone ever installed the pump on the inside of the frame on a extcab short bed truck? i couldnt get it to fit so its on the outside, and I wired it into the alternator not sure witch is better.

Inside or outside shouldn't matter. Why wired to the alternator?

If it's taking time to build pressure, there could be a bad connection on your suction side.

Have you checked or replaced your pressure regulating valve int eh return line of the VP44? They are about $30, and can cure fuel headaches if they are faulty.

Read posts 9&10. You may find some things to check.I would suggest using a volt meter at the liftpump with it running. I have burned up alot of relays with my raptor.

had a hard time getting the old line off the tank, i ended up having to split the push lock fitting to get it off, but didnt damage the 90 degree elbow and the new 1/2 line locked on nice and tight so i dont see a problem there, on my fuel filter housing where the fuel heater is, is a rubber grommet that is weeping, but it starts fine showing no signs of air in the system, i just ordered the 2000-02 style filter cannister with the fuel heater delete so that will be taken care of, and hopefully thats the problem, and i wired it to the alternator because it looks cleaner then if they went to the battery.. would you recomend connecting them to the battery?
