I Got a mechanical isspro fuel gauge, now what?
 

I got the guard. But I don't know what to connect it too I'm very confused on what I should do. I have the upgraded 1/2 inch lines. I want to run it in the cab I don't care about gas in it. How do I go about going from either the IP or airdog to my cab.??

Still have the banjo bolt on the VP44 inlet? If so, you can get a tapped banjo that will have 1/8" NPT thread in it, and read the fuel pressure from there.

With 1/2 line I would assume you don't have banjo bolts anymore..... This is what I use and it works great...RUSSELL FUEL PRESSURE TAKE OFF (1/8" NPT side port)

TO OP: sorry to hi jack, this post made me want to ask some questions. I've got the newer airdog with quick connects, been looking for a good source on fittings so I can tie my electric FP sending unit into the 1/2 line. I had thought to just cut the line put in a "T" and put in a section of hose with appropriate fittings at the end, but finding a 1/2 barbed T here locally is like trying to find sasquatch . I like the fitting HRD posted up, makes it the job more professial. But in big letters it says not for airdog with quick connect fittings.
On another note, Can I remove the test plug from my VP and put the sending unit directly into there, or is that a bad place to measure FP?

That fitting doesn't work with newer AD's with quick connects. JIC and quick connect will not work with one another.

Which test plug are you referring to? The one on the inlet of the VP? If so, that is a great place to put a fuel pressure sender.

I'm not !00% sure, which plug. During my reading of different threads, I have heard the plug by the return line . I'll see if I can't find the thread.

I can't find that thread, but if someone could post up a diagram or pic of the correct (test port) plug, I can see about getting mine hooked up.

Heres what I was thinking, the Airdog came with the fitting that replaces the banjo bolt in there now. I was thinking I could get that fitting HRD posted and just screw in the VP and then screw the airdog fitting into that. if it would work that way.
But if there is a place on the pumps itself, I would prefer to do it that way.

You idea will work. JIC (commonly called AN) fitting on that replaces the banjo, to the fitting HRD posted, then the the line from the Air Dog. That will make a rather tall series or rigid fittings though. If I was doing it, I would use this piece instead:

If I could tie it directly into the VP I think that would be the best way to go. No extra fittings. I'm just not sure where it is the plug is that I can screw in the Fuel pressure sending unit.

I am unaware of any plug to pull out. Most the time a tapped banjo bolt its used to measure fuel pressure. When AirDogs are used and the banjo is replaced with JIC/AN fittings, it is different.

With your AirDog already in, and the JIC/AN fitting on the VP, just replace the fitting that came int he AirDog kit with the one above.

Thanks thats what was really wondering about. I was looking at the pics of VP's online, and I didn't see one either.
