Hood stack
Wondering the best way I could make a pipe to run a hood stack on my stock turbo without flipping it or anything?
Might be able to use the existing down pipe, and just turn it to point up. Cut to length, and all done.
To exit the hood and not the cowl you need to fab a 90* toward the fender then another 90 to the front of the truck then 90 up. Obviously the air filter is in the way
Out of curiosity, why do you want a hood stat that puts soot on the cab, adds significant drone to the cab, and makes you chop up your hood?

If you have a mig, buy aluminized exhaust pipe. That's what my compound system is made of. Keep the heat low, just do spots at a time, and you will be able to fab up what you need.

Did you flip your turbo backwards? I wanna see a pic of it on the truck, the routing looks completely backwards from the pics you showed

no the turbo wasnt moved at all ill set it on the truck so you can see and yes the pipe came almost to the middle of hood.
This should be interesting. Only way I can see that working is if the manifold is flipped, raising the turbo.
no with the bent it went towards the valve cover by coolant hose by manifold then out hood so almost to middle but not quite. and the exhaust off the turbo was turned some to. if i remember ill get pics tomorrow at work i still have the hood on the truck i got a new one but i need to sand down n prime

On my 78 chevy that we stuck a cummins into took a stock down pipe cut it up a bunch and made it fit via my arc welder now it barely sticks out the hood and I welded on a piece of 5" to the hood so it can open close without a big gap. Didn't take too long and since I am running a divorced passenger drop case was much simpler than trying to route around the t case.
