EDGE CTS FOR 2ND GEN

Sorry if this has been covered in another thread, but have been unable to find it.
Considering an edge cts (gauges only) for 98.5 2500
Trying to figure out exactly what/how much I can monitor with this thing
Most literature says ability to monitor via OBD is dependent on vehicle specs, ya da ya da.........
What exactly will I be able to monitor?
Also, for a stock truck that simply pulls a travel trailer occasionally, do I need/can I use and edge with attitude??

Thanks,

SD

Do you have a good aftermarket LP installed yet? If not then don't even worry about the edge until you get a good LP installed. That should be priority #1 my friend.

Is it an auto or manual tranny?

Auto trans, Fass DDRP.

Have you added a VB and TC? If not I personally wouldn't buy an edge until you get those upgraded. But to answer your question yes with the supporting mods and Edge J/A will do you good. What are you wanting the CTS to monitor?

Oh, and presently just a manual fuel pressure gauge on top of canister @ 15#.........

Just tryin to do upgrades in some logical fashion....
Lift pump was first, now lookin at gauges. Tryin to decide between gauge pods and CTS type gauges. Not really interested in smokin tires, just want my truck dependable for occasional towing and monitorable
Pressures, temps, etc.

According to Edge website this is what it will monitor for 1998.5-1999

Accel Pedal Position, Battery Temp, Battery Voltage, Boost, Calculated Load, Corrected Speed, Engine Coolant Temp, Engine Speed, Fuel Level, Fuel Pressure (Juice w/ Attitude Only), Gear, Intake Air Temp, Throttle Position, Time 0-60, Time 1/4 mile, Trans Temp, Vehicle Speed (Mileage Coach Not Yet Available)

I understand, the first weak link in these trucks is the LP; which you have taken care of, the second weak link is the auto trans. The auto in these trucks are barley able to handle stock power so anything much over stock and problems tend to ensue. That includes towing heavy and for extended periods.

Dang Now why could'nt I find that.
Thanx for the quick reply, HRD
So EGT, Boost and Fuel pressure would require seperate analogs?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

VB and TC = Valve body and Torque Converter??

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

oops, did'nt see Boost on your reply......:s:
EGT and fuel pressure will require seperate analog gauges?

No problem my friend. You will have to get a pyro sender but it will plug into the edge as well as the sender for fuel pressure. You don't need separate gauges just need the senders that will plug in.

Yes Valve Body and Torque Converter
