Fleece VGT controller

For All Of thoughs that have put a 351VGT turbo into there trucks.

i have a quadzilla adrenaline always on level 10
100 hp injectors
a 6 speed manual
4" exhaust
and a lead foot
i want my turbo to run hard! i want it to spool fast and max out about 45 50 psi witch is easy to do but it barks alot when i shift gears. anyone have a map setting that will help? i think i could probley get more power out of it if i opend up the vains a little but i dont know fro sure. i also love the sound of the 6.0 power joke's vgt and mine although is fast spool up just doesnt have that same awsome ring any ideas how how to get it?

I have heard the BatMoWheels offer a significant whistle to them.

You are not going to get 45-50 psi out on this turbo. It might be possible with alot more fuel, a cam, and maybe some head work. You shouldnt try and push this turbo that high anyway. The 351ve creates a high drive pressure, almost 2:1. So for every pound of boost you make, you are creating around 2 pounds of drive pressure. The 24v head shouldnt have anymore than 45psi of boost put to it without studs at a 1:1 ratio so if you have dreams of 50psi out of this turbo its not going to happen. My 6.7 only made 37 with my Mini Maxx turned all the way up. I wouldnt go past 35 psi if you can get it there.

I wouldnt ever pay 400 dollars for more noise. If I wanted something to sound like a 6.0, I would just get a 6.0 like every other window licker that does. :c:

ok i dont know whats wrong with my turbo then.... i have hit 60 psi on a spike. this is acadent btw. and i can getthis thing to hold 50 psi for a long time.... and what is drive pressure and now i scared im ganna blow my heads...

vcustoms86 09-13-2012 03:49 PM

You can think of it as the pressure forced by the engine to drive the turbo at boost. so at 20psi of boost ideally you should have 20psi of pressure in the exhaust manifold before the turbo driving it. So with the 351ve at 60psi, you could be anywhere from 100-120psi of drive pressure. I think there is something reading wrong because if your drive pressure is that high, your head gasket would be toast right now. Also, as far as I can see with talking to other people who have done the swap, 32-37psi is the max they are getting out of it.

i wander if i have a diffrent 351 then? i had to modify the clip to run the fleece to it but i just though everyone had to do that... but no my quadzilla reads my boost and it was spot on with the mechanical guage that was in my truck back with the old turbo setup. were does the truck read the boost pressure from? if it is reading the drive pressure some how then that would explane the 60 psi like nothing but i really have to push my truck hard to get that. an it was befor i had any maping so i just kept the vanes closed throught the hole take off.

vcustoms86 09-13-2012 04:42 PM

No everyone has to modify that clip. Boost comes from your MAP sensor. It might have gone bad or need to be cleaned.

him idk but you can tell im turning that amount of boost... it runs hard and barks alot.. and with my turbo all the way i can still turn it farly well with some serius power

vcustoms86 09-14-2012 11:04 AM

Im sending you my table. Your turbo shouldnt be "barking" alot as far as I know.

Ok so I have called and talked to everyone I know that could provide good input and the census is the same, a he351ve cannot make 50-60psi. Where do you have your mechanical gauge reading from?

scottmorgan 09-15-2012 11:40 AM

my mechanical guage did read off the outlet boot on my old turbo. when i changed the turbo i never put it back on i just took the gauge out completly. but the old gauge and the quad zillla were always in agreeance

ill take a video tonight to show you the boost levels..
