Cold Air Intake
Im looking to buy a cold air intake what do you guys think is the best way to go I have been looking at afe's

Haha, you remind me of my ricer friends.. "cold air intake" ha. BHAF bro :tu: I just went to the local autozone, picked up a big ole SPECTRE air filter, 4" compatible, and stuck it into the end of the stock air box hose then tied it so it didn't flop around. $20, and one helluva difference :c:

:argh: lmao, true. :c:

Yup! A simple BHAF will do... Works great and a heck of a lot cheaper!
|
Do you need a heat shied with a bhaf
|
Dont need one but you can make one yourself pretty easily.
|
I know guys who do there 6637 thing. My old AG Teacher has a Napa 6637 on his CR and he does well with it.
|
Napa # 2790, 6637 is 7.3 PSD BHAF.
|
Yes I know the 6637 is the PSD BHAF, but I seen many cummins guys use them, so I dont see why it wouldn't work

i just went and bought a K&N E-1796. it is one of the biggest filters K&N sells. you could run just that but i am going to try and build an air box out of sheet metal for it. kind of like an ice box.:tu:

do a run down the interstate and get out a touch your intake piping. they get hot, and the outside of your aftermarket air box if its mounted near your exhaust housing the insides are boiling, i wrap those with some radiant heat shielding and you can tell a difference on a long ride.

i went the afe route. added a tork tube aswell. all depends how much u want to spend an what ur looking to get from it. anything geting u more fresh clean air will really help. but they all work decently well.
