DIY Boost Elbow
I can't seem to find where the DIY boost elbow instructions went!? It was a long detailed post with how to build a boost elbow from your local hardware store....
Thanks, Oliver |
Use a needle valve, that's what I've seen

i know on the 6.0 powerstroke you can make a kinda boost fooler to keep from throwing overboost codes with some type of regulator. i will see if i can find anything on that. i think it would work about the same but seem to remember that they weren't all that cheap. i know the elbows can be had @ 19.99 on ebay so.

http://www.mrostop.com/images/NV105C-4.jpg Thats a freakin good idea. The problem I have with the set screws is its a pain to get to and won't stay in place once I set it, I've even tried using teflon on the threads. We have these valves at work and they're a son of a gun to turn so I know it wouldn't move. |
I put an air tool regulator on mine and it is all the way closed. Just keep an eye on your boost pressure under hard throttle and back out a little if you go past 30psi or so with a stock turbo. I have to back off because of EGT long before I ever get close to trouble with boost.
