Best mods for mpg
New owner of 97 Dodge 5spd 2wd. Any suggestions to get the best mpg's possible. 1st, I will remove the heavy utility box for a standard box again. Gears are unknown at this time. I think 4.10s. Needs tires so I was thinking some nice tall pizza cutters might help. This thing was my finall paycheck from a previous employer. Funds will be a little tight for awhile, but I would really like to make a nice daily driver out of it.

It's ready for a service anyway so this will be a good time for the new air filter. How mush more fuel can I add before my economy goes to hell? I have been looking at the #11 power kit from TST products. My theory is to increase power, lower engine RPM's by being able to drive in a higher gear at lower speeds. A rear end gear swap will most likely be in my future.

Yes, if speed at lower RPM's is your goal, a rear swap is the only way to go. I can give you a list of cheap power-grades, but as long as you drive it like a man, you aint gonna get **** for eco.

Had the truck up on the hoist today. 3.54 gears. I thnk that I will leave them in for now and see how I end up using the truck. Wanted to do some of the free mods on pump but ended up chasing electrical problems instead. The truck has been sitting for 3 years after the shop mechanic said that the injector pump was bad. It really pissed him off when I opened the hood, flipped the fuel shut off up and drove it home.

LMFAO, that's great man, you have no idea how hard I just laughed. But anyway, I found a good list of free mods. But most of them eat fuel, but produce big power. Are you pretty schooled in the AFC?

My aneroid experience is on a JD 6030 tractor that had a p pump. I understand the basics of how it works but have a lot to learn. I am trying to find info here but there is just so much to sort through.
Thanks for the link. VERY GOOD STUFF!!!!
