4k gsk and valve springs from tpd

I'm looking at buying the gsk and valve springs from tpd for 150.00 shipped. Seems like the lowest price around and the exhaust springs are the 60lb from PAC brake. Is anybody using these? I can't wait to see how much better my truck will accelerate with the auto trans.

Alot of guys run the Pac brake springs if you ask me a 60lb spring is a 60lb spring but if you are running 4k GSK and plan on turning the motor over 3500 I would just do all 12 to be safe. That sounds like a good deal though if you decide to go that route :tu:

So 3500 is the limit if you do the exhaust springs only? I daily drive this truck and it accelerates well when the converter locks up but before that I'm defueling before it shifts, so its falling on its face while I'm waiting for the tranny govenor to catch up and make it shift I think. I don't see myself rapping it out at 3700 or wherever the kit maxxes out. 3200 is as high as you should go with stock springs right? So I'll only gain 200 rpm by doing the exh springs? What is the max with intk and exh springs ? Thanks

You can get by with doing exhaust only but after about 3600 your risking floating valves the reason for doing exhaust is because thats the valve the piston will follow up the cylinder. If you run over 3600 then you will want intake springs too and its one of those things that while your in there you might as well do them all.

Sorry for the dumb question but I searched and can't find a how to do the govenor springs.

They didn't come with instructions?

I dont know why I asked a stupid question but you never know. There is a plug on the side of the pump towards the rear, take that out and have someone turn the motor over by hand and watch for the spring ti come around. Measure or make your own reference on the depth to the top of the spring pack. Take all the old stuff out put new stuff in and measure to make sure its good. Thread plug back in and enjoy.
