thats exactly what it is thats why the recomend new head studs. hg's can blow from a number of things ive even seen them blow at 20PSI some at 55PSI,35PSI and on so its not much the hg but that still plays a roll

miles makes a difference too they don't get stronger as they get older.

I'm running 191's in my truck and I really like them. My truck is set up hotter than yours is, but I think you would like them.

You are for sure going to blow your head gasket at 50 lbs. The stock head bolts cant take that much pressure. They will stretch and you HG WILL blow. look at DDP DV's. they are supposed to make about 20 HP more than 191's and with less smoke, and less egts.

and back to the original question id say go with 181's or 191's. those will be plenty for your truck.
