Twin Turbo Sensor

i want to figure out were to put a boost sensor for the small turbo.

you mean you want to put a boost gauge on the small one? i'm not really following your logic when you say sensor... what do you want to make this sensor do?

The sensor will show me the boost pressure of the small turbo. This will then let me know the difference in boost from my large turbo and small turbo.

The sensor will tell me the psi of the small turbo. I would like to know what the difference is between the two.

hey bud if you wanted to we could drill a hole right into the small turbo housing and hook that guage up to it using the same method we have know but instead of being screwed into you intake manifold it will be put into your small turbo

I've never setup twins, but my understanding is typically you want a gauge hooked to the intake manifold to tell overall boost, and another hooked somewhere inbetween the primary and secondary to show how much the big turbo is pushing to the small turbo.... So either in the piping between the two or in the compressor housing of the big turbo.

no on twins the small turbo is first and that is what sppols the big turbo

NMCUMMINS 02-02-2008 03:45 AM

Actually on compounded twins the exhaust flows through the small then on to the big.

But for intake the big turbo draws from the filter, does the first stage of compression, and sends that air to the small turbo where the second stage of compression happens, then its off to the motor.

Not the best pic, but you get the idea

Oh and here's how the intermediat boost line is hook up...In between the 2 turbos
