Higher top speed?
Hey guys. I have a stock '95 3500 4x4 with an auto tranny with 235/75 tires and 4.11 gears. Only thing done to it is cold air and a 4" straight pipe to a 9" stack.
Right now on the highway I can only hit a top speed of about 70 mph before I start defueling and can't go any faster. I would like to be able to reach at least 85-90. I was thinking to get maybe some 3.73 gears and I bet 3k governor springs would help tremendously. I was wondering if I was on the right track and if there are any other ways? I would appreciate any thoughts! |
find a guy with 3.54 axles and swap him. 70mph is about 1900rpms if i recall correctly in my truck.

Yeah. How is it around town driving though? Does OD bog really bad going around 45?
