Default turbo for 500+HP

setting my sights on at least 500HP and was thinking on using a HE351VE vgt. Itll be operated by actuators and such to get full potential, will it flow enough though

will do a hot 500, there are other options that would also work with out all the actuators and electric junk.

For example a 63/68 .9t4 and an SDX spool flange

we did some r&d on one on a vp truck shot egts up like crazy but did notice a little quicker spooling. it has a butterfly that closes off part of the exhaust flange of the turbo. theory is all 6 cylinders exhaust will be directed into a single port to increase air speed and pressure and the butterfly will open up at a set pressure to allow full exhaust flow through turbo. kinda like puttin your thumb over the end of a water hose. its been real big in the import world for a while for tiny engines pushin large turbos

if egt's shot up like crazy the butterfly was not opening at the right time. If dialed in right the spool flange works like a dream

that could be true if I remember right it came preset and you either changed springs in the diaphram or shimmed it to change the setting. We told them boost the truck normally sees and they sent just the flange to use as is. I dont know if the company ever made a go out of it, it was a import tuning company trying to get in on the diesel market. Thats been a few years ago
