i have heard alot of people tell me that 5:1 is too aggressive and causes a bind in the shifts, i used a 4.2:1 in mine and it work pretty good, never tired the 5:1 so i dont know how true that is, kind sounds like your problem with the 2-3 shift tho, there is a supposed fix for it but im not sure what that is, as for the early 3rd shift im not sure on that, there is a guy on comp diesel goes by bigblue he knows alot about these trannys

i just saw your in az, i went thru avondale yesterday, had to drive form mesa to peoria to do a stupid 5min fix on a gas line cause the inspector doesnt know a whole lot about gas!

there is a guy in mesa KB transmissions he is pretty cool, if you can get him on the shop phone and talk to him he will probably give you some ideas on your problems, his name is kenny and he is the owner so hes not always there

awesome thanks man ill check him out other thing are there any good diesel shops around here in the hot rod world that you know of?

cumminspwr11 09-17-2011 11:06 AM

not really, i worked at reliable diesel in mesa for a bit and we built some quick trucks but in the way of 12vs i learned more on here, we built the gray SDHQ cummins that thing is quick! i remember hearing of someone in phoenix like "diesel doctor" or something, there was another shop but he closed up cause work was too slow

or where you looking for someone to work on injectors, injection pumps, o-ring heads, and build turbos?
