What?
I keep seening gsk what are you talkin about I prob know just don't understand
|
governor spring kit, its springs inside the pump that control how where it will govern the rpms, it does it with centrifugal force, basically the stiffer they are the higher it will rev to a certain point, stock starts to defuel at about 2200 you can buy 3gsk, 4gsk, 4.5gsk, 5gsk and i beleive now a 6gsk
|
thats what I thought it was just wanted to make sure I was on the same page as everone else :ty::duh3:
|
no problem
|
IIRC ,3k is the biggest you can go w/o valve float and have to change your valve springs also
Correct me is thats not right ..... |
yeah, 4k GSK requires upgraded (60 pound) valve springs
|
actually i have the 4kgsk and i havent done the valve springs yet but i rarely take it above 3k yet. probly goin to a 5kgsk soon.

4K GSK and only going to 3000-3300 is fine just make sure that if anyone else drives it dont let em past 3K.

I got 4kGSK on mine, with the HD valve springs (fun to install.....NOT!!!), it will only go to 3900 no higher, but... at 3900 on the dyno it did 143MPH!!!!
Im selling the truck soon and im leaving all the springs in it and im prolly gonna buy another 4k kit with HD Valve Springs for my next truck and change the valve springs when it becomes spring and the local drag strip opens. Would 5k's do anything different, other than RPM? it'd prolly make the fuel pedal awwfully touchy too. Just more ideas. it will have 0 plate 370's and a Phat shaft 62. Also off the topic of GSK. Delivery valves, laser cut? Injection lines .093 or .120? would .120 make it run lopey? i know lots of questions but i was thinkin that with laser cut delivery valves, .120 lines and with the water/meth on, it should give enough fuel to make the phat shaft 62 actually do its job, and not be real hot, plus POWER!!!! and SMOKE!!! Thanks, Cody |
ive heard both on the 120 lines that they get lopey, they are a little overkill for a street truck, 93's should be fine, STAY AWAY FROM SCHEID'S LINES though, they have horrible problems with leaking and breaking......you are going to need ALOT of fuel to hit 5K.....laser cut DV's are always a good choice.....
