New injector tips/nozzles
The injectors can apparently be taken appart and have the tips or nozzels replaced, is this true and are any special tools required.

ya they are a piece of cake, you can take your injectors all the way apart and clean them really good and replace the nozzles, i put them in a vice (very easily) then take off the copper washer if its on still, then get a 15mm or so deep socket and unscrew the front of the injector(if you look at the inj you can see the threads im talking about) then all the internals with come out and you can clean and inspect it, i use a blow nozzle and brake cleaner
there are a few little piece in there you need to watch for but its no big deal, its best to be able to pop test them afterwards to make sure they are working right with no leaks |
Injectors arent meant to just be taken apart for the heck of it, leave that to the people who "know" them. In the 12v world you dont buy nozzles, they are available but the real way to get a good set of injectors is to buy them from good people, bodies and all. There is more to injectors than just nozzle size. You have lift, pintle mods, pop pressures, on and on. You have several choices. My top three are as follows= SDX, Contagious, LBDP.

when i put the new nozzles in my injectors, i had zero problems with leaks and they all pop at the same pressure and held pressure, i wouldnt be taking them apart if i didnt have access to a pop tester tho
