What lift would be better?

I was looking at getting a 4.5 skyjacker all spring or a 5.5 fabtech long arm. What is the advantages of having a long arm vs all spring. I know skyjackers sit tall so are they pretty close in size? I was also looking to put some 36x13.50 iroks under it if the will fit. If anyone has pictures of the lifts it would help me out too. Thanks

You can easily fit 36" inch tires on either lift. A lot of people seem to think the long arm lifts ride a lot better than just coils and replacement arms. Mine rides terrible with two inch coil spacers in it, I have also been in trucks with replacement coils and the ride is slightly better. A good friend of mine has a long arm lift in his 1500 and rides like a Cadillac compared to mine. If you have the money i would go with the long arm lift.

thanks ya i was looking at them closer and the 5.5 fabtech long arm is about 1,000 less than the 4.5 skyjacker all spring short arm. so i think i will get the fabtech. Thanks

The long arm kit will help maintain the ride better than a traditional style lift. Go to BDS Suspensions website and watch the vidoes of a long arm kit vs. the normal lift. Its amazing the difference

I went to BDS websight, i couldnt find where there videos were but i found a 4.5 on there that you get to customize and it had long arm and all spring. Is bds a good brand of lift?

The reason I am getting a lift is to be able to wheel better, and i really dont like coil spacers it looks bad to me when i see the 5 or 6 inch coil spacers on trucks in parking lots. Well i understand like a 2 inch one for a leveling kit.

BDS in my opinion has one the best long arm lifts out or lifts in that matter. Our boss just bought the 8in long arm for he 2010 Mega Cab.

Here are there videos YouTube - bdssuspension's Channel

Sweet thats good enough for me, it seems like they have a good warranty and its what i wanted a 4.5 all spring long arm kit. Can I fit 36x13.50 under it or is it better to just put 35x12.50s?

Farmboy 2.0 01-21-2011 11:47 AM

Yeah there warranty is extremely hard to beat

blazier18 01-21-2011 12:05 PM

id still look into topguncustomz

Farmboy 2.0 01-21-2011 12:19 PM

There hard core warranty is cool if you break it they replace it minus shocks and stabilizers

blazier18 01-21-2011 08:11 PM

rite

blazier guy.im guessing you did the 6 inch spacer and the block lift.oh were you high when you said that dumb crap.you know how crappy my friends truck would look with those.if he did that he would be lucky if his leafs didnt wrap around after goin wheelin for 15 minutes.oh he isnt a cheap retard.he should go bds cus thats the best option and the ride.plus it will look better than a huge space.how legit it that

Oops I forgot to add I think it would fit 36 inch tires but it could possibly need to have some trimming on the inner fender. But I have not installed there 4.5 inch lift so I couldnt tell you what they clearance is like

bobcat67 01-24-2011 09:55 AM

with a little trimming a friend of mine cleared 37x13.50r20's on his 4.5" bds lift
