AFC Housing Bolts
I went to move my afc housing forward today and I got to loosening the bolts and found that the fourth one (forwardest closest to the engine) wasnt even a bolt, it looks like a tiny allen head but way to small to do anything with how do you get this off its not a bolt head or a philips its just a round head. I was able to move the housing just by tapping it forward with a hammer but Im going to want to take off the housing to change the fuel plate.

it's a tamper proof screw. you can take an impact driver with a torx bit in it and hammer the torx head into the top of that bolt. the impact driver should losen the bolt once you start hitting it. i took a chizzle to mine and beat the head off it. removed what was left of the bolt and then went to Fastenal and got allen headded bolts to go back in there on all 4 corners......

So Ive gotta hack it outa there then replace it with a bolt correct? Im guessing since this bolt is still in there the stock plate is probably still in there right?
|
maybe..... tst supplies a new tamper proof bolt with their plates..... is the bolt the color of the housing or a goldish silver color?

i used a coal chisle and taped on the side of it till it would unscrew easy..
or just take a dremmel and carve a slot for a screw driver.. |
Its the same color, looks like the housing was still in the stock location as well. Im thinking the only thing the previous owner messed with was the star wheel. does the afc have to be removed to install a GSK?

it should have the stock plate in it. and no you don't have to remove it to install the GSK....

Ok thanks for the help fellas, Should I see a big improvement if I cut the plate to say a 100?
