Hey I did this but when I turned the switch on all of my gauges wont work and its not wanting to shift. I unhooked it all but its still the same and i didnt cut the wire, I put a splicer in it. Any ideas what is going on?

Remove all your connections you made so its just like it was before and check all your fuses in the cab & in the relay box. Make sure you spliced the right wire AND in at the right location. Keep us updated :rocking:

I just did that but now when i start the truck it will rev up on its own. The peddle goes to the floor and non of the gauges work still. Do you know what the solid orange wire is?

zdanman 01-07-2011 06:50 PM

The diagram i have is showing a solid orange wire coming from that middle plugin going to the transmission. According to the diagram it uses Pin 31 on that plugin. Is this the wire you're referring to? :humm:

As in the illustrations, the only wire anyone messes with to lockup the T/C is the Orange/Black wire. Nothing else is tampered with other than of course the stock tranny relay which is removed and then jumped out (as illustrated).

Yes that is the one I tapped into and now all hell has come down

You are saying you spliced into the SOLID orange wire by mistake correct?
If you can, check the voltage you are getting now on the solid orange wire. You should be reading +5.0V.

The solid orange wire has to do with the governor pressure used for shifting.

Also think about resetting the computers via battery disconnect.

For a picture of it see page 11 of this PDF...

Reading in some other forums I've seen other people having to mess with this wire after rebuilding their transmissions. Search for "47re pin 31". Keep us updated :rocking:

here is one for you i put my switch in and when i clicked it it did not go into lock up it turned on the wait to start light:s::s::humm::humm::humm:

zdanman 01-08-2011 02:15 PM

@ 12vcummins96

You spliced the wire located at Pin 25 (which is also Orange/Black) and which goes directly to the "Wait to Start" light.

You need to tap into the OTHER Orange/Black wire located at Pin 11. Double-check and remake the connection. :rocking:

I'll be updating these diagrams to clarify these things. :tu:
