94Cumminz 12-15-2010 09:42 AM

well it did it with a the stock exhaust with my old engine and turbo and now it does it with a new 4in turbo back exhaust and new turbo and different engine.

12vpwr 12-15-2010 11:26 AM

well if nothings is blowing up or anything, than screw it. i wish my truck blew smoke rings haha

prison 12-15-2010 11:53 AM

and you dont have an exhaust brake? i know a couple people that flip the exhaust brake switch and blow smoke rings because it entertains them

blazier18 12-15-2010 12:30 PM

air in ur injector lines or bad injectors period

94Cumminz 12-15-2010 12:36 PM

thats what i thought... but wouldnt the turbo spin the exhaust and not blow a smoke ring and no i dont have exhaust brake.. so is it the injectors???:argh: :dang:

blazier18 12-15-2010 03:39 PM

ha ha u just confused me? ur turbo aint goin to spool fast enough at idle to spin smoke second when u give it fuel and it smokes rings or pops or white smoke its not gettin the fuel oit should to spin again. hold on before i sound stupid start ur truck tell me wat it does then drive it tell me wat it does any power loss? missing? white smoke? rough idle anything its hard to tell off smoke rings lol

94Cumminz 12-15-2010 09:28 PM

it starts and runs fine no loss of power but it only happens when i punch it.... so idk????:scare2:

Lostnwalmart 12-15-2010 09:37 PM

blazier18 12-15-2010 10:08 PM

Hurley 12-17-2010 02:11 PM

ever care to consider it could be a result of your particular exhaust system set-up?

leveled03 12-19-2010 02:44 AM

i have 2 buddies with 5spd 12v's that both will blow smoke rings, one is stock with afc mods, no plate, bhaf and stock exhaust thats straight piped. the other has afe intake, 90 horse ddp's, home ground plate, II turbo (cant remember the size) and full 4 in exhaust. it happens like right as the turbo spools at lower rpm. both their trucks run perfect :tu:

cummins95 12-19-2010 08:28 AM

if conditions are right, my truck will blow rings out the stack. its prolly just somethin with the exhaust setup you have.

white93 12-19-2010 09:58 AM

Mine used to blow smoke rings but new injectors fixed it. It was a combination of lugging it, having a turned up pump, and having 3 cracked injector tips.

I have had two different exhaust systems, stock system with straight pipe and still does it with the 4 inch turbo back.

My 4" pipe blows some cool rings whenever you do some fuel work and have to spit and sputter out all of the air. Happens every time air runs through the system. looks really cool! :)
