Default Exhaust Manifold Porting

While I have my Super B Special pulled for some warranty work, I was kicking around the idea of getting my exhaust manifold ported. Sounds easy, but is that really the case? I figured I'd line up the gaskets mark where I want to port, then take a dye grinder to it... Is their anything special to be known before I take the grinder to it?

i was thinking about doing this as well, i saw a thread some where else that had a really good write up and all the people that had done it said their egts drop 100-200* and the spool up time improved, some of them also took some meat out of the head and on the turbo flange as well

I'll let you guys know how it goes tomorrow... I'm going to take away from the inlets and some off the turbo flange. I really want to port the exhaust side of my head but I don't plan on pulling the head again for awhile...

a suggestion that i heard for porting the head was to make sure the cylinder you are porting is a tdc and stuff a rag or something in there and blow it out really good after your done
