max rack travel with the mack plug 21mm For the plug to allow the extra 2mm of rack your afc and plate set up will have to allow it. |
is that stock rack travel of 19mm on the 160 pump or all the other ones? i put the 2095 plug on my 95 and mod. the afc housing so that the foot got max travel and it made a pretty good difference, i believe you also either have to have the plate ff or no plate to use that much rack travel
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- oh and on the 160 pumps i heard it allows the pump to change timing as you go thru the rpms, where as the 215 pump already does this. is there any truth to this or did i miss understand something? |
never heard that about the 160's but as far as 19mm being max rack on all the pumps with the stock plug that is right

puredieselpower.. like 20 bux shipped
|
I heard that this wasn't a good idea on a 215 pump cuz the extra travel will will overshoot the ideal helical opening on the plunger, anyone know if that's true
|
the plug on a 215 pump will remove more timing than with the stock plug IIRC it takes another degree.
|
Ok so if my pump is at 17.5 timing now then if i put the plug in it will take it back to 16.5, how will it do that, and what does IIRC mean
|
on plungers of the 215 pump there is a retard notch, it was placed there for emissions reasons. As rack travel increases the pump timing decreases. with the stock plug the max rack travel you can get is 19mm, on the 215 pumps at 19mm of rack it will take 3* of timing away ( so if you were at 17* you are now at 14*). with the 2095 rack plug the pump will max out its rack travel at 21mm and pull 4* of timing.
Oh, and IIRC is If I Remember Correctly |

with the stock plug and WOT yes it would take 3* away ... and me personally yes I would use the plug in a 215 pump
|
hmmm I just bought one and was going to ask this question lol
so plug it is then |
