DV O-ring help!!!
I keep going through o rings on my dv holders..is there some ridiculous special way to put a damn o ring on? i put some diesel on it, then slid it over and torqued it down..85 ft lbs. i believe. ive gone through about 6 now on two different holders..any help much appreciated!! thanks! :argh:

coat the rings in Vaseline . They wont roll over and catch on the threads anymore. works everytime for me

cool deal..ill give it a shot today..

if its a leak its not the o rings... u have another problem. take the copper rings out if there r some
|
well the green o rings are literally getting pushed up around the DV holder..but i did leave those copper rings in there..when i got my 024 dv's from peak, the instructions said if there are copper rings replace them..if there arent any dont put any in..so since the new dv's didnt come with new copper rings i just left the stock ones in..do they need to be pulled out regardless?:humm:
|
yes take them out
|
right on thanks guys..got r runnin..:c:
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- well..back to square one..blew two more o rings on the dv holders.. #4 and #5...no copper rings and lubed the o rings..any more suggestions. i would love to fix this problem for good :scare2: |
I used dish soap then tightend by hand to make sure your not crossthreading
|
well i know non of them are crossthreaded cause i did put them in by hand..its just almost like i have to much fuel pressure and its shoving the o ring out..it only does it when i get on it..its never done it just driving casual..
