12v upgrades
Might buy a 1995 ram 2500 with the 12v cummins. I have exuast, wheeels and tires for it, but what are some good first upgrades to do to it that won't break the bank?

grind your plate to a #100 or #0, everything in my signature was free... and it rolled 341,8hp on the dyno !
the exhaust was there when i got it, so i guess you'll be near to equal to me, except mine came with a 230 pump since it's a EURO Cummins ;) is it a Manual or Auto ? ---AutoMerged DoublePost--- let's not forget, if you like a whistle from your Turbo... remove the silencer ring and baffle between your fender and airbox :) |
it is an auto

dont do to much u will be replacing you tranny

i had a 160 pump on my truck when i first put the 12v, i laid down 150hp and put a 0 plate in, it laid down 280hp for nothing. but ur stock auto wont hold 280hp, with out a good TC (torue converter)
another free mod u can do would be a TC lock up switch. |
First check your KDP and do it if it's not done, Won't make any more power but it may save you from major engine damage :c:
|
yea tranny work is definitely needed if you want to put a plate in might not need it right away but i burned my stock tc up in a matter of months with just a 100 plate
|
stock juiced up tranny and 600 hp TC is the way to go i just took my fuel plate out tonight and turned my star wheel way up and there is already a difference
but your first two things should be tranny and tc and go from there |
