twin turbo combo?

right now i have a 22cm exhausting and wheel just sitting in the garage wanting me to do something with it. will a twin turbo set up using a hx35 with 56mm compressor wheel and a 14cm exhaust housing and a hx40 with a 6 blade 60mm compressor wheel and the 22 cm exhaust housing be a good set up? or would i need a larger turbo like a hx50 or 55?

if not anyone want to buy the 22 and fan off me?

wouldnt be worth them them two turbos, if i was you, i would have a turbo shop take that hx40 housing and wheel and turn it into a 35/40 hybrid with the 14cm turbine housing. and then find an ht3b for your large primary turbo, you would have a setup their imo:tu:

ya thatd make a horrible compound setup IMO the turbos are way too close in size. i would leave the hx40 as the top turbo and put soemthing like an s400 at least underneath it. if your going to spend the money to do twins, drop a little extra money and do it right the first time and get a nicer more efficient turbo than an ht3b and then have to re upgrade later cause your not happy with it. but thats just MY opinion:tu:

ya i was just looking at those turbos, they are really close in size to the ht3bs, anyone know where to find one cheap? found one ebay and also found another holset that the guy doesnt know any #s on but said it flows 900lb a min. maybe good canidate for the large turbo???

just make sure if you do it you do it right. do the o-rings in the head, studs, silicon hose boots etc. dont try and throw it together cheap and break stuff or cause major failure because of a cut corner.

for sure, whats the dif. between fire rings and o-ring the head?

o- ring clamps the factory head gasket down to keep it from blowing out. fire ringing replaces your factory fire ring with a mild steel ring (think big metal o-ring) i have a thread about which one to use... hope i helped

just to stur the pot up some ... I think you should keep the hx40, put a smaller exhaust housing on it. Get two more and make your self a set of tripple hx40's :tu:
