ill give them a call. im all gunna call jasek motor rebuilding off route 71, they mostly do stockcar late mode, and sprint car motors. mostly gassers. but i know jeff jasek and he has alot years doing motor machining. so i dont think an oring job would be hard for him?

dan33klein 04-21-2010 04:38 PM

does anybody know the deminsions for oringing the head?
and do you just use a stock headgasket?

my local shop will do it, but he needs deminsions for doing it, and he said they can either use a .41 or a .51 wire? i dont know what it means. but any help would be great

guhfluh 04-21-2010 04:53 PM

I thought you used a copper gasket but I'm not sure.

.041 or .051 is the diameter of the wire.

My 24v head had .41 wire, the groove was cut .039 wide and .029 deep, leaving a .012 protrusion. I can't remember the diameter of the groove cut though.

dan33klein 04-22-2010 07:21 AM

yeah i called another motor guy, he said he can o ring, just a little busy. i just didnt know what headgasket i should use for the best sealing

oglejust 04-22-2010 07:40 AM

i thought a stock headgasket was wat ppl use

dan33klein 04-22-2010 03:48 PM

dan33klein 04-23-2010 06:15 PM

oglejust 04-24-2010 12:07 AM

It will work just fine with thinner injector washers, the compression would drop slightly

seandonato73 04-24-2010 10:24 PM

the compression will be the same, diesel heads are flat, just make sure your nozzle protrusion is correct.

dan33klein 04-25-2010 02:21 AM

im gunna be getting sdx 5x14s, how do i know what washers i need?
should i just go stock or .020 over?
