5" Stacks and Straight piped
O.k What I did was I took a 4" piece 50" long square tubing with .125" wall. I milled a 3.5" hole for the inlet then I milled a slot above the inlet and welded a .250 piece 2" long to act as a baffle and keep the exhaust equal to both stacks. And as near as I can figure it worked several guys at work said the smoke looks even out of both stacks. I don't know if it would be equal without the baffle. Next I machined 4"X5" slot where I welded the 5" tubing to mount the stacks to. I welded .250 plate 4"x8" with a 2"X4" foot with 2 1/2" screwholes. I made a plate to go under the bed with the same pattern as the bracket in the bed. This way it spreads the load out and it isn't just the nuts holding it. It kind of sandwiches the bed steel if you will. The tubing sits 4" off the bed floor. I got the stacks off a wrenched semi truck at a salvage yard for 25 a piece that with the steel I have 150 into it. Now to remove the cat I went to NAPA bought a 31/2 piece and 3to31/2 reducer 31/2I.D to 31/2 O.D. elbow I also bought a 3"I.D sleeve in case I want to put the cat back in. with clamps it cost 70.00. Next I want to install a 4" downtube and change my inlet to 4'" and have 4" all the way.

the turnout stacks are much quieter than mitre cuts inside the cab also. i had a 98 12 valve with 4.10 gears and i lost 5th gear. that was a long very loud 500 miles. it had mitre cuts. i think i have a pic in my profile of it
yes stock exhaust pipe till i removed the cat put a piece of straight pipe in it's place then got an elbow and some flex tube fab'd a crossover that's it. I get comments all the time on the sound.
