Suncoast valve body question
I was looking for some transmission stuff on the suncoast website and came across a valve body that is a manual shift for a 47re. I read some of the description and I can't make some sense of it. Do you guys know of it? I assume its a valve body that lets you manualy chose the gears, is that right? I would just like to know how the whole thing works, and if its even worth looking at. Thanks

are you talking about the torque converter lock up?
|
Suncoast does offer a manual valve body but I would think the sole purpose would be for those who use the truck as a sled puller.
|
it is the same thing as a manuel vb for a drag car. its a manuel with out a clutch... it wont shift till you shift it... it does require a ratchet style shifter though... and when you shift it it shifts hard....wouldnt recommend it for a dd.

Thanks, so do you guys think i would be better off just going with the normal suncoast valve body?
|
ya i got one and it shifts better and every thing

Its a manual shift by the driver.
Does NOT need a "rachet shifter" to use it. You will need toggle switches for operating the O/D and lock-up. Its is widely used by pullers, drag racers and guys who convert their trucks from sticks to automatics as it eliminates the need to wire in the trans ecu. |
