best fuel plate for 3gsk???

Just got my Goerend tranny installed last week, what a huge difference, especially on the low end. Bittersweet though, have the strong tranny now but little $$$ to keep bombing. Anyway, called TST Products to get a 3GSK and the person on the other end asked what plate I was running. I said a #6, and she said the 3gsk would make the truck run worse than with the stock plate... said I needed a #4 plate which I didn't even see on their site. Still learning about mods and really not sure what to do here????

So, I was wondering what plate profile you all recommend to run with the 3gsk with the mods in my sig to get get more pep but not kill my MPG??? The new Goerends tranny is the standard duty one, no billet shafts. BTW, pretty easy on the foot and don't race or pull, just want more pep in the daily driver. Thanks.

the 6 is fine, there just trying to sell you more crap, all the 3gsk will do is allow the truck to fuel up to 3000 rpms, instead of defueling at 2250 or whatever it is

your fine with the 6. In fact the 6 is a great all around plate.

The 6 is fine with both 3k and 4k springs. Just adjustyour AFC to get the driveability where it needs to be.

Thanks for the replies, I thought I'd be OK but wanted to make sure.
When you say

Just adjust your AFC to get the driveability where it needs to be.
do you mean adjusting the star wheel and sliding the housing up or back as well as the plate? What kind of "drivability" issues should I see when I first pop them in and what, in particular, kind of AFC adjustments are you referring too? Bear with me, sorry for the lack of knowledge here.
Thanks again.

he's talking about adjusting the acf spring preload. on top of the housing there os an 8mm allen plug. remove that and there is a "starwheel" in there. using a flat headed srewdriver turn the wheel forward (or turn it toward the passenger side of the truck) for more pre/low boost fuel and tighten it (turn it towards the driver side) moving the wheel backwards to make less pre/low boost fueling. there are also spring kits that adjust the rate at whick low boost fueling comes into play. hope this helps. also FYI https://www.dieselbombers.com/davy-jones-locker/4030-tst-6-12-valve-fuel-plate-sold.html

EDIT forgot to add that it might add too much fuel down low so you might have to tighten the starwheel some or you might have to losen it up some. depends on what works for you and your turbo....
