loping?

so iwas messin around on youtube and found vids of loping trucks.:humm:what have these guys done to make there trucks do that ,does it hurt performance or engine life

I'm pretty sure loping isn't to healthy for the engine. But to do it, turning the fuel delivery up with larger fuel lines will do the trick. Their might be more, but thats what I know....

a crap load of fuel, but it is realy bad on an engine

I did the EGR delete on my pickup yesterday, now when I first start it in the morning it lopes bad & puff's white smoke, untill the water temp comes up. I thought it was pretty cool sounding at first, but I'm tierd of it allready. I think I need to remove that servo controled plate in the intake. I envy you guys with the 5.9's I'm working on de-smoging this 6.7 but it sure is a pain. I like rigs you work on with wrenches & sockets not a dam lap top. Guess I'm getting old :humm:

Dude...
Laptop tuning is way too cool...LOL

I actually had someone tell me that at a recent truck show about how out of date I was with my old mechanical truck. It made me get a good laugh though.

On the Loping....
Most of the YouTube videos of the loping trucks will be VP44 trucks equpiied with "Monster Pumps".While they may be very cool sounding they are a real PIA to drive around town and in traffic. You can make a P-Pumped 24v and a 12v lope also with big enough injection lines but once again, the drivability suffers greatly and really makes it a task to drive them at slower speeds. If your pulling or drag racing where all out wide open throttle is used most of the time the larger lines help with fuel supply but other than there I wouldn't use them.

I have 4 sets of lines for my 12v that start at .079 go up to .120.The smaller sets,.079 and .084,are the most street freindly and produce well on the dyno. The .093's are ok on the street, lope a tad bit and loose a little power on a dyno and make daily driving a bit more interesting. The .120's are a real PIA on the street, kill dyno numbers and the constant loping makes daily driving a challenge, however,if wide open throttle is where you run they will make the best choice but thats not me.

Loping sounds cool but to me thats about it.....Andy

i'd prefer the rhythmic chug of a decent cam... loping is BA sounding... but cams are just plain sweet... gasser or diesel; gotta love a good cam
