can anyone recomend a reputable diesel shop?

I would like to take my truck in to a "good" diesel shop around the Mississippi and louisiana area. I would go up around the memphis tn area too. I am just having a hard time locating one i could trust with the things i want done to my truck.

jaybuller 07-18-2009 07:43 PM

yeah i bought the truck in weatherford, tx about 3 weeks ago....it was about 7 hours or so from here. But if he does good work and could scedual it were i would drive up there in the mornin him do the mods that day and me get out of there that evening that would be great. Just have to plan it i guess...

ETXBlueRam 07-18-2009 07:49 PM

What all are you wanting to have done?

Coco2992 07-18-2009 09:43 PM

yeah he does great work. while you are here, you should check out his diesel powered funny car.

jaybuller 07-18-2009 09:48 PM

well i want my pump timing set at 15.5*(the right way. with out worrin about it slippin or bein off) also would have them go ahead and install the 3k gov kit. I can do the rest like fuel plate afc tuning ect....and could do the timing and the gov kit but would have to buy the tools to do it and still would have to do the work myself and would rather just have a profesional do the timing anyways....

Coco2992 07-18-2009 09:53 PM

well go ahead and give him a call and see what he says about it and how much

In Memphis, Taylor Diesel is Great and been around since the 50's. They specialize in Injection pumps and injectors. and turbochargers. You Prolly have a machine shop closer o you. but those dudes helped me when my nerves where worn to a ragged frazzled nub.:argh: and made it simple.:rocking: but they don't wrench on your truck. there is a cummins shop and parts counter here too but no what you want and order first they stock filters and coolant and such on hand. parts come from the factory and the distribution center.
