12V vacuum location?

Well I just got in my new Autometer pillar set and they are NICE! I was wondering if anyone had a good location to pull vacuum from. I tried up top to the diaphram on the inside drivers fender and nothing. Since this thing isn't full of vacuum lines like my old gassers I'm a little confused about where to get the best signal. I have a 60 PSI gauge; what should I be getting when I mash it anyways; 20? Since we are on the subject I will need to install the pyrometer as well and there is some discussion about the best place for that as well. As usual, any input is appreciated. :U:

Why are you measuring Vacume?

Are you talking about turbo boost?

I'm with doc, there is no vacuum on a diesel engine as there is no restriction in the intake. There is however a vacuum pump on the engine that supplies vacuum for the brake booster , cab vents, 4x4 actuator, and cruise control, but this does not need to be monitored.

My 95 has no vacum pump it pulls the vacum off the side of the block just below the fuel pump so to say a diesel has no vaccum is crap all engines create vaccum somehwere the only time you would need to measure vaccum is if you have a vaccum opperated exhaust break. And that is only so you can make sure there is enough vaccum to operate it

that is the vacuum pump

Yeah if you're calling the whole engine a vaccum pump I suppose it is but unlike the 24valve motors there is no electric vaccum pump on the engine
