Fuel Plate

i have a 94 12 valve auto that i ground the fuel plat to a #0 and i just bought a 96 12 valve 5 speed can these b interchangeable

Dr. Evil 04-04-2009 01:04 AM

Yes, you can put the zero in your 96.

mikew 04-04-2009 01:39 AM

thanks dr evil

djwhonda92 04-06-2009 11:45 AM

ya all of the 12 valves can run the other years fuel plates

Beets 04-06-2009 04:17 PM

watch running the the zero in the 96,the stock clutch can not handle a zero plate alone. depending on driving style

Make sure you have an EGT gauge as well the 215 pumps can dump some fuel.

Good point, you need a pyrometer and boost gauge at minimum and still have to take it easy or you will need a new clutch or torque converter

mikew 04-07-2009 11:48 AM

ok. yes it came with a boost and a pyro but i need to fix the pyro the guy put it after the turbo not in the manifold.

xzaq103 04-09-2009 10:38 PM

you can figure the temp to be roughly 200-300 degrees hotter post turbo.

Dr. Evil 04-10-2009 12:24 AM

Ive heard its between 200 and 500....and I believe that was from someone with a pre and post turbo thermocouple on the same truck.

djwhonda92 04-10-2009 01:12 AM

oh well drilling into the manifold is easy so you might as well put it in the right place.. :humm:

mikew 04-10-2009 05:04 PM

yea thats what i figured put it in the right spot then u no what it is

young-gun 04-15-2009 02:34 PM

yeah thats a good way to create power but what does that do to your mpg

mikew 04-23-2009 11:15 PM

on my auto i got like 18 to 20 mpg empty

djwhonda92 04-24-2009 12:01 AM

my mileage isnt nearly as good... :madd: i only get like 13mpg

it all depends on your afc set up ... if you set it up right it should improve, set it up wrong and it all up to your right foot

mikew 04-24-2009 09:04 PM

i dont no what the afc is but i just ground the plate down and turned the star wheel a couple times

djwhonda92 04-24-2009 10:02 PM

the afc is that top cover you had to take off to get to the fuel plate... that whole top piece will slide also.

mikew 04-24-2009 10:42 PM

o ok i dont think i did anything with that

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

so u can slide it forward or backward what gives u the best fuel milage

12valvetater 04-24-2009 11:19 PM

backwards will deliver fuel later than forwards

mikew 04-24-2009 11:27 PM

ok so if u put it back then push the pedal it will take a sec before it actually gets the fuel

You may be getting the poor mpg's because your trucks got the egr set up due to the california's epa standards. Junk all that shit and you should see large improvments.:U:

AFC controls low boost fueling. You need boost to push the AFC arm forward witch gives your more rack travel and more fuel.

djwhonda92 04-27-2009 12:14 PM

how would i go about "junking" my EGR crap?

You Just need to get a block off plate for your intake horn and the exhaust manifold. I think they sell them but i would just make a plate myself. It should not be to hard, all it is is, that tube that goe from the exhaust to the intake, it recirculates the unburned fuel to the intake to burn it completly, thus giving you hot air which is bad for mpgs and power. I would just buy, when you get the funds an aftermarket exhaust manifold, and a intake horn off a truck from another state that does not have a egr set up. Get rid off that hippy bullshit.!!!!:U: BTW, i have not seacherd it but you may find something in the seach section on this site about blocking it off.

gotta hate that california crap
