Injectors
I Have been looking for around 140hp injectors, but i have many questions. Which ones do u guys recommend? Also I noticed that pure diesel power has some for 479 has anyone tryed them? I also ran across nozzles for a 12v has anyone tryed these?
The "best" 140s your going to find are ddp4s however i have heard good things about 435s from new era they are also 140 hp injectors and are much cheaper. Do you have a link to the ones on pure diesel power?
I cant really recommend the ones from Pure Diesel Power because I have no first hand experience with them. But, I can tell you to stay away from the Pensacola Diesel ones. Have just heard too much bad stuff about their parts.
yea i know thats why i want to get away from them before they break on me.. ive had them for a year and nothings happend yet (knock on wood).
Pure diesel: 435HP Stage 5 Injectors 5.9L 12 Valve Cummins Diesel Pure Diesel Power |
It looks to me like you have the air for sure. I would go with ddp4s or new era 435s. Most of our sponsors sell ddp. and New Era is one of our sponsers. Then again so is Pure Diesel Power. I have never heard anything bad about Pur Diesel Power I baught my 60lb valve springs from them. but like doc i have no first hand experience with there injectors.
yea i think ill go with new eras just because like some of u guys have said theres not really a problem with them but do any of u think that my egts will sky rocket? cause right now it my max no matte what i do is 1300 i really dont want to go too much higher than that
Hard to say what will happen. What size of injector are you running now?
When I added pensacolas to my 97 all i got was more heat. I have heard guys say that with p sticks the heat is equil to 370s. From what i have heard P sticks are just marine 330s. I think you will be very happy with the EGTs form new era sticks. They are the correct spray pattern and shouldnt run as hot as marine injectors. What size stick do you plan on running?
What all in your sig have you installed? |
ive got every thing installed with the exception of the 3gsk... and i want to go to 140s.. and like i said long as i dont get too much higher then 1300 from a dead stop im happy
The "best" 140s your going to find are ddp4s Tell you what though... I'll take a set of my stock 370's and drill them out to .014,extrude hone them, double the price, throw in the cost of the original 370's and sell them to you....Opppsss..Thats what DDP does. The DDP4's are nothing more than a 370 Marine injector drilled out to .014 and extrude honed. They still have the same 155 degree spray angle and have the same issues with hitting the bowl the standard marine injector has.The new set I had didn't even pop correctly and were sent back after I had them checked by two independent shops and found what they really were. Unless your really going for a max power deal, stay with the standard 370 and use what you save on something else.In the long run you'll be better off.........Andy |
well id like to avoid 370s but im guessing new eras could be the same

well id like to avoid 370s but im guessing new eras could be the same Its your dollar and your truck,I was mearely trying to save you some cash........Andy |
see what ive been told is that the spray pattern is wrong, that they make ur egts sky rocket etc etc.. im not saying ur wrong im just saying theres been so many negatives ive been told, it kind of makes me want to avoid them.. haze i dont really care for but it seems like u said no matter what ones u get its gonna happen.. basically long as they dont do it once the trucks warmed up im ok
I am by far no expert but from what I understand is the marine applications have 155 spray pattern and the trucks have a 145 spray pattern. According to most people I have talked to this is why they haze sometimes at idle and smoke a lot. Yes any performance injector is going to smoke more than stock but some are much more controllable than others.
yea i asked the new era rep on this forum but he hasnt answered me back yet
I have a set of 370's, they do haze but it's not all that bad. They do smoke pretty good when you hog into it but the smoke is very easily controlled. EGT's aren't to bad either really (I don't think), i could hit 1600* pretty easily, but just normal driving they keep pretty cool 700*ish.
I personally love my 370's :U: |
see to me 1600s alot considering mine right now will only hit 1300.. do u have the stock exhaust elbow?
I'm running stock hx-35 turbo to full 4" exhaust into the bed and 5" stacks.
are u runing like a hx-40 style downpipe with an adapter to the back of ur turbo or are u running ur down pipe off the stock exhaust elbow? because that stock elbow is only about 2inchs in diameter
Stock Elbow...... I know.... :argh:
that explains why ur egts are so high..technically u have about a 2inch into 4inch down pipe.
Yah I'd like to get a bigger turbo to eliminate the problem all together. Maybe the ole 35 will crash and I'll be left with no choice lol
