Fuel Plates
 

i thought i read on here somewhere that someone had listed specific horsepower ratings with all these ground fuel plates...is there such a thing? ...if so great! ...could someone lead me to these...if not...can anyone tell me what they are or how i can expect my truck to run with each different plate? i currently have a Banks plate in it now ...moved it forward from the stock position but still doesnt feel as though i've got enough power there. The low end has increased quite a bit ...but the mid range is not as good as the stock position. Is there a plate i can trade it out with that will get me the most power that i'm gonna get from it by just changing the plates? what can i expect from bumping the timing up? i just changed the banks air filter out and replaced it with the BHAF and pre-filter. any help appreciated

Is your trans stock? A #100 or #0 will give you a lot of fuel but without trans mods your just asking for trouble. If i remember correctly you can’t grind a banks plate into #100 but you could grind it to a #0 and not put it at full forward. I have also heard some trucks seem to make a little more power with the plate just a little shy of Full Forward. You might try that as well.

Bumping timing will get you slightly better mileage, a little more top end and if I remember correctly it will lower egts slightly. It will also be a little louder and you might notice a slight loss of low end power.

DM.... in the link to the fuel plates you listed there is an additional link to "PDR camplate horsepower guide" but the page has been removed...any chance that it can be found any other way??

This is now considered to be just a guide. There lots of people grinding their own custom plates and getting them from other sources.


Bumping the timing will give you a very marginal bump in hp - but, more importantly it will make the truck run better. You should be somewhere between 15-17 degrees.

For some extra performance you should look into a 3k or 4k Governor Spring Kit.

The 3K dont Require Valve Springs the 4K Do

LOTS of guys running 4K springs with autos. I cant recall hearing that before.

Yeah ive never heard of any different on the auto or manual i was just stating that the 4k's require Valve springs :U:
