Ok,while my truck is down until next week till i can get it in the shop to have the timing advanced to 16.5* i was gunna start buying some goodies!:jump:Im really debating on the SDX 5x12 or 5x14?I tow quite a bit but i was also looking at getting the ATS Aurora 3000 or the BD Super B Special?I just want a a truck that will have good EGT's and pull my 14k trailer fairly well! Also running #100 plate! But any input on a good setup would be great!Already got the 4000 spring set and the 60 lbs springs just waiting for a good day to put them in!:tu::jump:
Also looking to get around 375-400 RWHP range if possible! |

I like the S300 that turbo is talking about ... for the money that is ... if you plan on building twins in the future the 3000 is a real nice foundation for that ... i would start around 18* timing with that amount of fuel ... wanna give it a chance to burn it completly .... other wise that much fuel will not have enough time before the exhaust opens up and your kickin half the fuel out your pipe.... my $0.02:c:

16 18 whats the difference. i ran 18ish for a couple years on a stock top. a degree or 2 isnt that much of a deal. i wouldnt run 20 on stock stuff for very long but somewhere in the teens will be fine.

Sorry bout that I thought you had studs .... You can find them Fairley cheep on E bay .... Got mine for 417.00$ ... Arp 2000's ..... Can run as high as 60#boost with them .... If u need more than the Arp625's are you upgrade from there ... But at 1150$ a set .... Ouch :ouch: .... Bolts should be ok to 17-18 be careful about lugging it down ... And romping on it when it hasn't opened the T stat .... It will and could cause the coolant to vaporize on the inside of head against the cylinder head ... Causing a high pressure spike to build behind the Tstat ... Which with higher cylinder pressures and more boost will stretch stock bolts quickly ... :w2:... Not that I might know....:s:

Ya none of that sounds fun!:dang:
I think im going to stay somewhere in the 16-17* range?:humm: But maybe if i win the lottery or something i will take my boost up to #60!:rocking::jump: |
Might think about a coolant bypass to keep your coolant pressures in check , will keep #6 cooler also ..

I drag and tow .... needed it .. now have a leaking HG .... didnt let it warm up before I took off one day loaded ... OOPS !!!! .... whats that smell ?? smells like Coolant ??
AWWW FK !!!! leaking under t-stat ... now I know ... dont pull , and if ya do , make sure its warmed up first ... Steamed the coolant and caused a maor coolant pressure spike under the head .... blows the HG under t-stat due to pressure ( stock headbolts dont help much ) .. and no torque plate and real high drive pressure's and high EGT's are other factors too .... |
