fuel plate on a 97 dodge 12valve

I am planning on getting a fuel plate and am pretty clueless on what one to get and will not grind my own I've heard of people doing it but not interested. I'd like more power but also want to improve gas mileage since I am only getting 10 MPG in town and 13 to 15 highway

I would recomend a #10 plate.It's a nice modest gain,i have a #10 in my 12valve.
Alot of people have this one.
I would recomend you fill out your signature to let everyone know what you have done to your truck. This will help in diagnosis of future issues.

I will just got my account today thanks for the feedback! Have you had any problems due to the fuel plate like over heating fueling issues or anything? Its my daily driver just wanted to get some more power. I roll coal every now again when some Jack ass cuts me off is that going to hold back the amount of smoke you get if you romp on it or do the same as it was with the #10 plate? Black smoke isn't my main concern of getting a fuel plate just want power. Also what'd it do for your fuel economy?

No, i haven't had any fuel issues,overheating,fueling issues,ect.
Mine is my daily driver to.
No it won't hold back on the smoke
You can also adjust the starwheel
I get around 14/16 city
22/26 freeway

The "fuel screw"?

97cummins 04-15-2013 02:04 AM

Everyone calls it the star wheel
On the top rear of the fuel pump you will find the cap with a large allen head screw.
Remove the screw, and inside it you will see a wheel with notches on the out side/ YOu just need to use a flat head screw driver and turn it towards the front of the motor.
Two questions,do you have a egt gauge installed?
And is your killer dowel pin dealt with?

I do have an egt gauge and no haven't messed with the killer dowel pin I heard something was wrong with them but not really sure what I can do about it without a mechanic

Scratch that I think I might get that kit for the dowel pin soon it's not worth the price of a motor is it hard to change the dowel pin I'm not much of a mechanic but I can usually figure things out
