63/68/14 over 480

Do you think the screaming eagle over the 480 will be a good set of street strip twins I don't tow and looking to make a pretty nasty set of twins that I can st drive also what size injectors would be best all replys appreciated and if you got a better set up for a 12 valve I'd like to hear it

94 12valve 03-14-2013 08:59 PM

screaming eagle? who comes up with these turbo names
lol

what is your horsepower goal or times that your trying to run?

cummincider 03-14-2013 09:53 PM

Probly 700 ish would like to be in the twelves running 35 inch tires and still be able to drive around this is my dd and only dd lol

HAHAHA buy you a honda son, this is gettin ready to get heavy. LOL

cummincider 03-15-2013 11:46 AM

Lol yea I know I can hear my built tranny blowing up already but back to the subject good combo is there a better dd and strip combo ? That idk about

MillerBoyzDiesel 03-15-2013 02:38 PM

its not the combo it the dd and only dd part with 700hp, hence the honda comment. you deff wont wanna have to depend on a 700hp truck to drive daily. As far as the combo goes its not uncommon. Give brett at outlaw turbo a call. He can give you a good idea of what to start with as far as turbine wheels and exhaust housings goes. Hes great to work with and can modify your setup as you need it.

ricet07 03-15-2013 03:21 PM

Making that power isnt necessarily hard but maintaining it the trick and daily driving it just makes it worse.

cummincider 03-15-2013 03:44 PM

Hmm so what is the breaking point were daily driving it is hard and ur always breaking stuff 500hp I'm guessing

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

And if you build it right shouldn't it hold up pretty well it would come down to how you drive more then anything correct me if I'm wrong I'm just weighing the option of pain in the ***vs reward

ricet07 03-15-2013 03:47 PM

Well not really breaking stuff just the driveability and the line you balance on of it being a streetable strip truck or a stripable street truck if that makes sense.

94 12valve 03-17-2013 12:00 PM

63/68/.83 over a 75/87/1.1 would be a great set up for you

cummincider 03-17-2013 01:30 PM

Oh ok well Looks like we're gonna walk that line fellas also do you think a 12mm pump will be able to keep up with those demands or will I haft to go 13mm

94 12valve 03-18-2013 06:47 PM

a 12mm will do just fine ... altho 13mm are very fun on the street :tu:

jkidd 03-19-2013 02:26 PM

you could go with a tighter s400 turbine set up to spool faster

for 700HP I would skip the s480 and go for a friendlier 62mm s475/87 1.25
or dial it down to 650HP and do an even quicker spooling super B s475/83/1.25

Drothgeb 03-31-2013 07:20 AM

I run a 62/65/.70 over a 80/88/1.10. It's a compromise between a 62/75 and a 63/80. Spools pretty quick, but not as quick as a 62/75. But spooling depends a lot on the timing. At 17/18 it drives very well. The Sreamin Eagle would give you more top end, but not spool as well.

Seth'sCummins 05-01-2013 04:19 PM

No need to go to a 63/68/14 for your secondary for that power level. You can go with 63/68/.85 I hear that is a fun turbo but you will need an external wastegate.

For the street it is nice to have good spool up, I would go with 62/65/12 like Drothgeb has.

Corky677 05-02-2013 01:24 AM

62 over a 475 will get you there and be very street able ..(more friendly then a 63 over a 480- thats a sweet combo though)
And you could daily it no problem .. Drive conservatively ...
Is your pump maxed and balanced , also who's and what size injectors are you running .

cummincider 05-06-2013 09:48 PM

Yea I think im going to go with the 62 and 475 for spool up but with 650 to 700hp is it possible to maintain a drive behind something with that much torq and is o ring in the head with studs enough for this set up

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I would go sxd 5x18 and have the pumped benched I'm just worried about having something with that much hp having it break all the time Motor has 230 on the clock to so idk if that is to worn out for that much hp i have pretty much replaced everything all the truck already lol except for motor I almost got a new truck

Corky677 05-07-2013 11:15 AM

I wouldn't really worry about the mileage that much. If the motors healthy it's not a problem , studs and o rings should be fine ...5x18's are on the big side IMO I would go smaller like a 14 or 16 and with the maxed pump ,let it do the work
As far as drive , I'm not sure what you mean like drive pressure ?

cummincider 05-07-2013 08:33 PM

Sorry drive train as far as tranny I got red eagle clutches trans go shift kit upgraded valve body triple disc torq converter I know I'll need billet shaft just didn't have the money wen I did the tranny I just don't wanna blow all the money on the hp goal if I'm not gonna be able to keep it on the road

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

And as previously posted what problems to you run into dd a 700 hp truck as far as maintaining it
