This maybe should go in the 2nd gen performance or 12v forums, BUT I am working on my fuel plate modifications, and I think I may have screwed myself on the tamper-proof screw. I used a grinder to grind a notch in it to get a blade screwdriver in it, and when i used the screwdriver on it, I broke half the makeshift head off- I think it is now going to be a complete PITA to do my fuel plate, but if anyone knows any tricks, PM me ASAP and let me know, or drop a phone number in the PM if the solution is easier to tell via phone than PM- edit: OR go in chat or IM me on AIM (name same as here)

Well I got the screw out by my own special means, BUT now I am wondering what to use now that the screw is severely disfigured and funny looking. So any input on that would be appreciated at this time. Thanks again.

Jeremy, you can take the threaded part to find a replacement at your local hardware store.

I figured that much- Should it be OK to drive the truck with only 3 of the screws holding the AFC housing on?

Onto next topic, I have read about adjusting a couple of screws once the ground plate is in place to get the lever arm back to the bottom of the plate... Well I am looking into the gaping hole without the plate on/in, and I do not see the said screws there...

Guess I will look closer at things before I go any further. Current status: AFC housing removed & plate pulled, awaiting grinding.

yes u can drive it with only 3 screws. as long as it's not permanent. i tossed both the break off and the screw next to it and replaced with 10mm head bolts. works really nice for me.

one little thing i learned when i adjusted my gov arm. pull ur plate out, open the throttle up. the arm will come forward and the heighth adjustment screw will be easier to get to instead of going in from the back. u'll kind of have to guess at the height, reinstall the plate, check height, and repeat if it's off but it's harder to drop stuff in the pump this way. THE ADJUSTING SCREW FOR THE GOV ARM CAN FALL INTO THE PUMP.

this is just wuts worked for me. tom's info is spot on and is the typical way to do it.
