Bone stock but I'm gonna play...

I just picked up a 95 12v P-pump 2wd truck and have some stuff left over from my old '02. I am going to swap to the hybrid HX-35/40 turbo I built for the '02 and see what it does. Got 42# out of it with an Adrenaline chip and Banks exhaust and brake on that truck.
So what do I need to do to get it to spool on this truck. I know I need to turn up the star wheel and move the plate forward but should I get a plate for it or will that be enough?
The trans in the truck surges and is weak so I know I am going to pop it, but hey....there is the excuse for billet!

yank the plate, and crank the starwheel...

the HX35/40 will spool easily as the P7100 trucks more fuel than the VP...

you might want to set timing to 16° aswell...

isn't the stock pump set at 15.5? I hear most people bump up to 19*....

angelic0- 10-30-2012 08:24 PM

stock is 13,5.... stock headgasket and headbolts will be safe @ 16,5

5.9 cummins 12 valve stock

I have my timing cover off, to put in new seal. How do I advance timing to 16.5? I am also installing 4000gsk governor springs and 60# valve springs, how do I keep the valves from falling in the cylinder:s:s?::s:

Set the piston at TDC on the cylinder that you're replacing the springs.

Pardon my ignorance... but what's the best way to determine that with no spark plug port?

WILDKING 11-05-2012 03:55 AM

:humm:When both exhaust and intake valves are at their highest point the piston is all the way up.:humm:

You can also get a Diesel Compression tester....it has a fitting to hook up an air supply through the Injector hole. The air presure will hold the valves in the closed position while you work.
