13s with wh1c,6 blade hx40?

I've even searching for threads online that discuss 1/4 mile et's along with what parts they are using. Ive done mods in my sig below. A billet single is in the works along with a dtt shift kit. The Trans is also relatively new along with the overdrive unit. I have a set of rebuilt 215 injectors coming in the mail as well. Has anyone made enough power with 215 injectors,160 pump, and wh1c to run 13 second 1/4 miles? And would a used 6 blade hx40 be a worth while upgrade? I also have 4.10 gears if that would help with spool up . Thanks

It takes almost 400hp to get a 6500lb truck into the 13s. So it's not impossible, but it's more likely you'll be mid-high 14s.

So with a hx40 and stock rebuild 215 injectors and the mods in my sig probably are not even close to being in the power range? I should probably hold off on the hx40 then until I get my Tc put on and maybe hold out a little longer for a bigger turbo ? I might be able to pick it up cheap, maybe less than 300.00. It came off an 8 liter cummins and I thought the 6 blade had the 60mm wheel. The guy who has it also say it has the 16cm exh housing. I would also throw on a 4" exhaust /down pile if I get the hx40.

There's a lot more to it than just the turbo. If you put on the hx40, bump your timing, pull the plate, tune your afc, then lighten your truck as much as possible, you'll be getting in the ball park.

I originally built my truck to do 12s, and it ran 13s. Then I changed it to run high 11s, and it runs low 11s. So the only way to know for sure, is to run it.

Thanks for the help. I want to run it very much but they already closed the track for the year. There is a dyno shop a few hours away and it's actually closer than the track. It's hx40 fell through but I'm going to focus more on the Trans. It's hard not pick up a used holset of eBay. I did however buy some 026 dv's and hopefully they will be here in a week. The injectors should be here any day. thinking about torquing the head btw down a little tighter and raising the timing a couple more degrees along with bumping up my fuel pressure into the 45 psi range. I would like to be able to beat my father in laws 2005 dmax with the banks 6 gun.

If you're on a tight budget, try to find a used HE351 instead of a HX40. But if you really want 13s, try to find a 62mm. Plenty of air for 13s, and can get you in the 12s with the right supporting mods.

Well the 62 sounds good. He351 would be the smallest I upgrade to.

12's have been done on a hx35 so yes it's possible with the correct weight traction and a good trans.

12s on an hx35? I thought I read an old thread i found on the web saying someone went that fast. My wh1c only has a little play right now so hopefully I can abuse it for awhile longer until it breaks or I get something better. I have a few older vehicles for sale- funding for my transmission upgrades. If I get all three sold around the same time I may get a billet input as well as a single disk and shift kit or valve body. Thanks for the help everybody

I've heard of ~430hp running a hx35 with a stock long block. If you get it light enough, that could do 12s. :jump: Or... you could send parts flying trying. :scare2:
You could always go with a larger turbine housing and spray the hell out of it too.

For me to hit 12s, it took a 62/65/12, 5x12s and 024 DVs.

If your turbo has a little bit of side to side play, that's ok. If it has any in and out play, I wouldn't push it.
