Bullydog

One of my buddies has a 06 3500 cummins dually. It's completely stock right now but he's looking at gettin a Bullydog triple dog gt tuner for it. Just wondering what yal think about em and if it's a good idea or would you go with something else.

I would have him check out a Smarty Tuner.

I'd stay away from bully dog. Smarty or an H&S is what I'd suggest

Seems like a lot of people dOnt like Bullydog. Any particular reason why? I don't know a lot about em

Very poor written tuning. A lot of smoke with out the hp gain. High egts.

i as well have heard bad things about the triple dog, but that being said ive also heard bad things about every other chip out there to haha, i do have the triple dog and i really like it, the install and updates are very easy, i find it does have pretty good power for the money and the fuel mileage i get with it is a definite improvement on stock

I have an 05 3500 and I've been running a Bully Dog Triple Dog since 05. I just bumped it up to Crazy Larry without issues. However I did get a Smarty on Saturday from eBay and you can't even compair the two. The Smarty has a much smoother power curve and feels stronger too. I'm putting my Bully Dog up on eBay if your interested lol.

Well he's been stuck on getting a Bullydog and he actually went and got it yesterday. We installed it just like it said and everything was working fine we thought. We take it out on the road and tried it on every setting and something's wrong. Gives no power at all? Any idea what's wrong?

Take that back it does have a little more power but not much. Even on extreme.

Are u sure he got it for the right year?

We put one on a good friends truck, and on the dyno, it laid down less hp on high then what it did with stock tuning. Driving it he said he could feel a lil power difference and smoked alot.

His doesn't smoke any more than it usually does. And I know I selected the right year cause I went back and checked a couple times. I called a local dealer and he talked like Bullydog has really went downhill lately with their new tuners. All the power that it does give is low end and very spotty

I'd say something not correct. Before I got my Triple Dog in 05 I had one of those 3 day BD trials from the performance shop. I think they only gave me the 40hp tune but you could knew it was there. Then after 3 days it felt like I was running on 3 cylinders after it was gone.

Recently I was running the Crazy Larry with the Low End setting and Torque Management off tune. I never really got on it but it made my turbo spool like crazy.

That setting had a ton of power and it was unmistakeable, I think if I did get on it, it would have left my tranny in the rear view mirror.
