Lift pump confusion

OK so I bought my 03 cumins back in augist of 2010 and I love my truck. But with 98K miles I don't think the lift pump is long for this world. That being said I have been looking at some of the post about after market replacements and was curious about how to bypass the filter mounted pump as it appear that the inlet is an O ring seal and is held in place by the pump itself. In the post that I have read it appears that easiest installation is the BD pump but again I'm not sure about how to bypass the factory pump. any ideas?
thanks

would you consider a FASS fuel system?

If you add your own filters you can totally bypass the stock filter and pump assembly (I am assuming you have the canister mounted pump).

If you want eliminate it entirely you could get this..

Or if you want to tap into the canister you will need one of these set ups...

With fuel pressure ports..

FYI most raptor or FASS HPFP kits come with the fittings to tap into the stock canister I believe.

The raptor pumps for those years come with the adapters to hook up to the fuel filter canister. I would recommend going to a fass or air dog with the good water seperator and good 2 micron filters to filter fuel 5 times cleaner than the stock filter.

Actually the baldwin drop in for the 03-07 is very good. 5 microns absolute and a 94+% water stripper.

Personally, I am not a fan of odd threads used on the AD fuel filter and the piss poor performance of the FS19768 water stripper.
