Nice, does any one know how to hard wire this mod?

tiremann9669 07-17-2012 08:41 PM

Yea with the link that was posted

you have to be careful with that because some state laws require you to have the fog lights off when your headlights are on high beam. found that out the hard way

What's in the kit for 25 dollars? one relay and a piece of wire?! Anybody have this? What was in the kit?

hirschy 07-18-2012 06:17 PM

for my 07 I borrowed a buddies bully dog pmt, and went to special features and turned the the option on so fogs stay on with high beams.

worked out great, ya it was in the options along with some other things like enabling or disabling daytime running lights, turning on the high idle, and enabling and disabling the the horn when you lock the doors.

Sorry, I haven't been on here for a sometime. And this site dose not alert me until a week are so later when some has posted on something that I have posted on. So anyway back to the kit. I got this kit and it took me less than 30 minutes to do this mod. The kit came with a relay and 4 wires and this is how it hooks up. 1 wire go to a wire to the head lights ,one to the fog lights, one a ground and one to a hot wire. you can turn the fog lights on and off with the stock switch. The stay on all the time on high beams. You can turn them on and of on the low beam. And it was real easy to install. I think it took my about 15 minutes to do it.

I tried sending you a PM about this but since my post count is less than 10 I am not able to so I will just post here. I was researching ways of activating my fog lights with my high beams and came across this thread. I was wondering how that kit was working for you and if you have had any problems. I have a spare relay laying around so I am thinking about just wiring that in with my fogs and brights if all that kit is is a relay and the wires to connect it. I am a bit cautious on doing this however since I know the TIPM on our trucks can be temperamental when you start doing stuff like this.

Glad I dont have to worry about this, Ive never had any luck with high-beams in fog seems like all it does is illuminate the fog at eye level... I only prefer the lowest beaming lights possible... HID's cut the fog pretty good though I will say. 10,000k's to be exact best visibility in fog ive ever had. Really thinking about wiring some HID's in my low-lines im sure they would work great.

They work good, no problem with them at all. For the money that the kit cost, which I think was $25.00 . You can wire it up yourself with the relay, but if it was me I would buy the kit instead. It took me about 20 minutes to take apart plug it in put it back together and looks factory. So $25. its worth it.:tu:

It's not a issue running fog lights in the fog that's not why I got the kit so could run them in the fog with my high beams which I don't do when it's fogy anyway I use my low beams in the fog. I did it because I wanted more light with my high beams at night to light up the road better when it's not fogy :tu:

I had mine turned on by the dealership when it needed some work

minncountryboy 11-28-2012 07:21 PM

I dont even use my high beams.. but then again my truck sits a lil higher in the fron then the back.. but when I do it dont change the virw forward just illuminates the top of the trees better haha..
