White Smoke/Missing

I had a mobile mechanic come out and run a scan on my 05 dodge diesel today because I originally had a white/grey smoke issue at start up, the smoke went away when the truck developed a seriously rough idle, the scanner said my injector pump was pushing 7000 psi at idle ithe mechanic said it should be putting out only around 1000 psi at idle, does this sound accurate? If so what would cause the pump to pump so hi? Looking on EBay, they have a pump that works on the laramie but not slt or st, is that accurate? If the pump is pumping where it should what would cause the white smoke to go away and the rough idle to start, its so rough it feels like a gas engine does when a spark plug isnt firing, could I just have an injector issue? Thanks

I would try and replace the FCA (Fuel Control Actuator) before you buy a new CP3. When the FCA goes bad it sometimes can dump to much fuel into your engine and cause that bad rattle. Do Not Run It if its doing that, you cold really hurt the engine. A FCA is about $100, i think, you can find them on Genosgarage.com

New injectors

thanks for the reply i might have to try that because I bought 6 new industrial injectors and took the truck to a shop to be installed, the mechanic told me #6 wasnt firing and the rocker arm on #4 was loose, the truck is still rough thru about 2000 rpm than it smooths out a little, he is going to check the injectors to see whats up with them, when the truck shuts down it is a real i mean real rough shutdown it idles down than has a violent shake at the end, the mechanis told me my flywheel is coming apart which is causing the shake at shutdown and possibly the shakiness thru the engine. I knew the clutch was on its way out, it would slip when I got on it at highway speed. Has anyone had any issues with industrial injectors?

I'm not to familiar with them but i have heard good things. Man sounds like you have a few problems, good luck to you. That FCA takes about 10mins to install, its on the back of your CP3, just unplug it take the three allen screws out put the new one on. Just be very carefull you dont strip them taking it out.

Would I be getting a check engine light with either a cp3 or fca problem?

Yes my engine light came on but i also have heard some people didnt have it come on. Check to see if your truck is throwing codes by cycleing your key to the on and off positon three times. If your throwing any codes you'll see it on the display screen were your odometer is located. FCA is code P0251.

Quick update: I guess the fella I bought the truck from had replaced the # 4 injector at some point and didnt torgue, the valves properly my truck went from white smoke at start up (bad #6 injector) to running rough from idle thru acceleration ( #4 intake valve seat came loose and beat burnt up piston). Trying not to cry over a truck ive had 3 months!
