TC Lockup Switch

:argh:06 3500 CTD. Looking for the info to lockup the tc with a switch. Grounding what wire?

Not sure about a 2006 but on my 2005. I tapped the #7 wire from the ROUND plug on the tranny. (plug does have very small numbers showing which is #7). From that tapped wire, I ran it to a switch in the cab. I then went from the switch to a common ground.

So when you hit the switch, it would lock my TC. Turned switch off and tranny worked like normal.

Hope that helps.

I dont recommend this unless you got an aftermarket TC.

TC is not the problem. Input shaft is in mortal danger though.

I'm totally clueless on this sort of thing and I have a manual so I'm pretty sure it doesn't even apply to me, but can someone explain this whole concept to me, cause I hear about it all the time and don't have a clue whats going on.
