Default New 2006 cummins

Hi I just recently purchased a 2006 5.9 it has 109k miles on it and everything is stock on it and after put 4000 miles on it I notice a couple of things. First off I don't dog on my.truck at all which leads to this question ...in between going 20-35 MPH I notice it kind of blows a little black smoke but wheni give it a little acceleration the smoke becomes thicker..same thing between 45-60 sometimes.. is that really any concern? It doesn't seem like it ever had a chip on it and everything is stock and recently replaced the air.filter too.

I wouldn't worry about it much. You can replace the fuel filter as well.

Gotcha I did replace it when I got it 4000 miles ago ... must be time to change it ... I notice a lot of 06 models that are stock have alot of soot on their bumpers..

Here's a good one for ya. I also have an 06. I too experienced the sooted bumper and rear rocker panel. My dad, BIG TIME DODGE CUMMINS BUFF, suggested I get a Max Mileage Module, and Boost Fooler. I did. I'll be damned if that didnt cut down on the black smoke and soot. This was my second mod, after my first mod (BHAF, CAI & Torque tube). Other mods on my sig came later.
