abs still comming on help please

i have changed the ball joints in my front end and both sides was bad i thought maybe that was throwing my abs off but everytiime i turn my steering wheel hard left or right the abs and brake light still flashes on then soon as i turn the steering back straight it goes off normal driving it doesnt do anything i look everything over and i cant find nothing. Powersteering fluid is full and a new belt im lost hope somebody has an idea

Find some one with an abs scan tool, then watch the wheel speed on the front sensors I bet you have one dropping out on a hard turn. Also check the wiring going to the sensors from the frame they are known to break. One other thing you can do is pull the sensor from the hub and make sure there is no dirt/metal on it, if there is clean it off.

X2... Have the ABS code read!

i checked the wires they looked good now it hasnt done all day but once. so makes me think there might be a short somewhere when i crank the wheel the wires isnt pulling tight it seems to have gotten better since i done the front end work. But still does it when i turn left and not the right now.

Ball joints have nada to do with abs. The tone ring and sensor is in the wheel bearing

dmaxkiller 05-09-2012 09:13 PM

yep and while your in your hub. flood it with grease

jones 05-09-2012 10:20 PM

well it stopped soon as i put the balljoints in after i done that the abs light doesnt come on at all now when i turn the wheel to the right just once in a great while when i turn it to left befor i changed them they came on all the time mechanic told since they was so bad that it could be throwing the abs off i dont know just trying everything i can think of

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

you cant flood the bearing with greese its a sealed beering

i have a abs sensor. if you wants to swap it around and see if that fixes anything.

hey thanks alot but im good im just going to change both of them out and cross my fingers hope it works im thinking its the drivers side thanks again

It sounds like a broken wire on one of the two wheel sensors...whichever one is getting stretched in the direction your turning the wheel when it happens is likely the culprit...
