Thanks for that information. I will have to check with him, but I think the dealer found one tube loose when they thought they had it fixed. He was already suspicious of the FCA which had been replaced and that seems to be fairly easy to check.
I think with all these good tips he will have plenty to check if it rains this weekend.
It makes me want to go out and hug my old 12V.

Sounds like the same exact issue I'm having with my 04.5 although mine is an auto. Changed fuel filter, lift pump - was thinking FCA was next, then cam position sensor. So doing a retorque on injector lines solved the problem for good?

The retorque fixed the truck for awhile. Now it will lose power if you fill fuel tank past one third full! Tank has been off twice and he has run it with cap off with no change. He is thinking about changing FCA again, but several people have told him that will not fix the problem. Meanwhile my old 12V is still chugging along at 305K.

Yep, something to be said for a 12 valve. Heck, even my old 24v, I've got that thing pretty much whipped. Once I changed cams and put a 12v cam driven lift pump on it cleared up the majority of the issues with it.
